There are 8 billion people on the planet and – yes, we’re getting preachy here – we all gotta do our part to be better to each other and our home. Through our 1%FTP partnership, we give one percent of our annual sales to important global causes. Certified Organic Ingredients

“Organic” isn’t just for hippies and baby food anymore – it’s for all living things. We source organically grown herbs, oils, and raw ingredients to ensure our products are free from nasty stuff (harmful pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers) and promote good stuff (diverse ecosystems, healthy soil, clean groundwater). It’s organic, man.

Non-GMO Materials

Yep… they’re real. We like our materials the way nature intended, so we pass on genetically modified organisms. We don’t have a ton of rules, but we do our best, always, to  source materials that do not contain GMOs.

Wild Land Farming

WWRCD? That’s “What WouId Rachel Carson Do?” If we can’t source it, we grow it. We grow our own calendula, lavender, and yarrow using wild land farming techniques to promote biodiversity, build natural habitats, build healthy soil, and attract the birds and the bees (heyo).

Powered by the Sun

Photosynthesis – even buildings are doing it! Our production facility in Morro Bay, CA is powered by photovoltaic panels on the roof, and plenty of outdoor board meetings.

Girl Power

For anyone sitting in the back: More women in leadership! We’re proud to be a Woman-owned and founded company (shoutout to Caroline!) and run a business full of badass lady power. Our production facility is run and staffed by women, we have women farmers, women in finance, women in sales… are you seeing a pattern? Hats off to you, ladies (and, obviously, to the men who love them too).

Cruelty-Free Testing

We test on actual humans! We’re all about cruelty-free cosmetics and partner with membership affiliates like PETA and Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (Leaping Bunny) to encourage consumers and companies to say no to animal testing. It’s the 21st century, people – let’s just test on humans or robots. Paging the Terminator.

Reef Friendly Products & Initiatives

Things we like: Finding Nemo. Things we don’t like: Dead Nemo. We’re committed to protecting the coral reefs of the world by making ONLY reef safe sunscreen. Quick science lesson: pollution caused by chemicals found in common sunscreens (notably octinoxate and oxybenzone) contribute to clog up the pores of coral reefs (yes, they have pores too) which is no bueno for these creatures. (Here’s more science if you want to geek out). We stay faaaaar away from these ingredients, instead making 100% of our All Good mineral sunscreen products with topical ingredients that sit on top of your skin to physically block the sun’s rays. These non-nanoparticles won’t absorb into your bloodstream or into coral reef systems, either. If it’s good enough for Nemo, it’s good enough for you.
